About
The purpose of FFSUK is to promote the Free Software philosophy
in the UK.
There are many groups, and individuals, across the UK that believe in the Free Software philosophy.
We are using our experience gained from the previous UK groups of AFFS and
FSUK, to unite these disparate parties to help push forward the Free Software philosophy
in the UK.
We are doing this by:
- Directly connecting those parties to each other.
- Helping those parties understand the value of, and how to, connect to each other.
- Getting those parties sharing contacts, ideas, leaflets, what works, what doesn't work, etc.
- Supporting, coordinating and facilitating those parties to promote the Free Software philosophy
in the UK, where necessary.
- Engaging with parties that are potentially receptive to the Free Software philosophy
but haven't had it explained to them yet.

Projects
- Richard Stallman (rms) in the UK 2011: promotion of Richard Stallman's speaking tour in the UK in 2011. The tour itself is now over but we are collating the recordings made of the talks and promoting them. FFSUK attended every event.
- Software Freedom Day (SFD) in the UK: promotion of SFD in the UK, assisting SFD marketing for the UK, helping to start events to improve coverage of the UK and assisting UK events.
