Software Freedom Day (SFD) in the UK

Software Freedom Day (SFD) is an excellent annual opportunity to promote the Free Software philosophy. SFD is not widely known about in the UK, even among Free Software advocates! This needs to change. FFSUK is pushing to get events in all areas of the UK and to assist events in organising.

SFD2010 is on Saturday, 18th September 2010.

Current likely SFD2010 event locations in the UK:

FFSUK will focus on helping to start events in the following areas:

Do you have an "Old Software Freedom Day Wiki" page?

UPDATE: The "Old Software Freedom Day Wiki" is not available at the moment.

If you have a SFD wiki page on the "Old Software Freedom Day Wiki" of www.softwarefreedomday.org then you can move your page across by:

1. Getting the wiki markup by selecting "Raw Text" from the "More Actions:" drop down menu.
2. Paste that into your page on the new SFD wiki.
3. Fix the wiki markup to the new format
   • URL markup is now double square brackets ('[[' and ']]') instead of one square bracket ('[' and ']') and the link text separator is now a pipe ('|') instead of a space (' ').
   • Attachment markup has changed the same way as for URLs and, at time of writing, they are convert to links to a new upload area so attachments need to be upload again.
